Thinking and the breath
Breathing? Absolutely connected with thinking better.
A daily practice is of course optimal, however that will be shared tomorrow. For today, check out this TED talk where heart rate variability is shown.
This touches on something more advanced known as 'Vagal theory', but to keep it non-nerdy for now, the point is that breathing calmly tells your body that you are not in danger, you can relax and then the vice-like grip that stress has on your brain and thinking, is loosened and your brain turns on again.
Slow down to go faster.
Who is in control? The body or the mind? Learn to switch gears between deliberate and automatic processes.
In danger, body control means we don't die. Often it is the opposite, we make careless mistakes and bad decisions because our body is panicked and the brain takes a back seat.
