Emotional musculature and the need to practise.

What the hell is “happiness” anyway?
Do we need it?
And let’s not even get started on emotional bypassing to only feel the good emotions.

All emotions are good. They all serve their purposes. More to the point, we need to ‘exercise’ certain muscles in order to deepen our our feelings and gain a better understanding of what moves the needle for us.

The benefits of positive emotions don't stop after a few minutes of good feelings subside. In fact, the biggest benefit that positive emotions provide is an enhanced ability to build skills and develop resources for use later in life.
